Mystery Glaze Petal Marimo

These Marimos have been glazed using the “mystery glaze” I made out of years worth of glaze leftovers. Glaze is heavy, and when I rinse my brushes the excess glaze falls to the bottom of the rinse bucket. Instead of throwing this little bit of glaze away, I save them in a container that has, over the years, filled up with layers of different colors. Once I had enough saved I mixed them all together to see what color they would become as a little experiment. What came out was this gorgeous, rich, stormy blue. This glaze is entirely unique, and once it is gone it will be gone forever

Marimos are balls of algae that migrate in lakes and rivers until they find the perfect place to spend all day wiggling in the sunlight. I like the idea of magical migrating marimos seeking out lonely houseplants to keep them company.

My marimos don’t wiggle in the sunlight, but they do shine thanks to their durable cone 6 glazes. They are designed to sit in the pot with your plant, but are just as happy to sit next to them or wherever you choose to display your marimo. If they get dirty all they require is a wipe down with soap and water, but they are also dishwasher safe.

Large are approx. 2.5 inches tall and 2.75 inches wide
